Meta Ads vs Google Ads for Car Dealerships: Which Wins?
Paid Ads · By Go Digital Marketing Team
This comes up in almost every first conversation with a new dealership client, and the honest answer is: it depends on where a buyer is in their journey, and the two channels do different jobs well.
Google Ads (Search specifically) captures demand that already exists — someone is actively typing "[model] price Chennai." It tends to produce a lower cost-per-lead on bottom-funnel keywords, but is capped by how much search volume exists for your brand and models.
Meta Ads creates demand — reaching someone scrolling Instagram who wasn't actively looking, but is shown a compelling offer or walkaround video and clicks through. It scales further than Search because reach isn't capped by search volume, but typically needs stronger creative and a slightly higher lead volume to reach the same cost efficiency as Search.
Our usual recommendation for a new client: start with Search for immediate, high-intent leads, then layer in Meta once you have creative assets (video walkarounds, offer graphics) ready to scale reach profitably.
